Diese Woche haben wir für euch Åskväder am Start. Die Jungs kommen aus Göteborg und sind im Juni sogar für ein paar Termine in Deutschland. Bassist Kammo Olayvar hat sich unseren Fragen gestellt.

Who is behind Åskväder?
Since the translation for Åskväder would be something like “Thunderstorm”, the mighty Thor would be the rightful answer. But the band consists of founder and guitarist Martin Gut, Albin Sörenson – lead vocals, Kammo Olayvar – bass and August Waernelius – drums.

Forget about genres for a second – Åskväder’s music sounds like…?
Like if someone with cool boots time traveled in every direction at the same time.

Wich sort of mood produces the best songs?
When you have too much on your mind, maybe are angry over stuff even, but still walk around like you’ve been eating happy pills for a week.

Which instrument will surely NEVER be heard on a Åskväder album?
Guitar!? Haha no, but probably something like turntables or various 808 loops.

Which person, artist or incident inspired you when you first started making music?
Probably learning about the grind… still traumatized.

Which record would you want to listen to when you leave the bathroom in the morning, while last night’s beautiful company is still in your bed?
Something super cheesy like a piano version of Backstreet Boys „Millennium“ or Fred Åkerströms “Jag ger dig min morgon” on loop.

The Fairy-Godmother pops up in front of you and grants you a wish. What do you wish for?
For pizza and Oreos to taste well together.

No alcohol is no solution either. What booze combination will definitely dissolve all your troubles and issues?
A second beer and preferably a beer before that.

What shows you that someone is a true friend?
Whether or not they can accept the fact that I actually enjoy Star Wars episode 1.

Who was the hero of your childhood?
Started out with Batman, but now I’m a grownup and know that he is fiction. My current hero is therefore Spiderman.

What is the most embarrassing surprising record in your CD-shelf?
Smurfhits 3

What’s next? Tour? Studio? Vacation? Something completely different?
We just got back from a five day tour in southern Spain. We have a tour in Germany coming up in early June, but before that we’ll have time for a few shows here in Sweden.
