Who is behind Giant Walker?
Steff (vocals), Jamie (guitar), Jordan (bass) and Alex (drums)

Forget about genres for a second – Giant Walker’s music sounds like …?
Alex: All your favourite bands in one (hopefully)

Which sort of mood produces the best songs?
Alex: A relaxed but creative one, with no real target/end goal.

Which person, artist or incident inspired you when you first started making music?
Steff: There are a ton of artists and bands I could throw out as inspirational to me, but considering „first“ I’d probably have to say my dad. He played guitar in bands back in the 70s and is one of the biggest music fans I know. His influence was definitely a massive driving force for me getting into music.
Jamie: I would have to agree with the rest of the band and say my parents were both massive inspirations and ultimately shaped my music taste into what it is today. However, If I had to choose a band specifically, I would say it has to be the first time I heard AC/DC. They sort of unfairly get labelled as „Dad Rock“ these days, but to quote my Grandad “If you can’t tap your feet to this music, you’re dead”.
Alex: My older brother Mike, we both started playing drums at around the same time and I have memories watching Kerrang and Scuzz (RIP) on the TV with him. He definitely shaped my earlier years getting into heavier music and bands!
Jordan: My dad was a guitar teacher and my older brothers all played instruments already when I was a kid, so I’d have to say them. We would always listen to music together a lot, and I remember in particular there was this live version of “Bullet in the head” by Rage Against the Machine that would always play on Scuzz TV, and first time I saw it, I just had that moment of „Oh THAT’S what bass is“ and “F@&%, that’s what I wanna play!“

The Fairy-Godmother pops up in front of you and grants you a wish. What do you wish for?
Steff: Teleportation would be pretty handy…
Jamie: Bigger hands.
Jordan: A free-Popeyes-for-life card. Maybe the power of flight.
Alex: The drinks machine from Five Guys

No alcohol is no solution either. What booze combination will definitely dissolve all your troubles and issues?
Steff: Well, we recently released our own Giant Walker Hazy IPA in collaboration with the legends over at Burning Soul Brewery in Birmingham, so we’d be remiss if we didn’t say that!

Who was the hero of your childhood?
Alex: Either Spider-Man or Thierry Henry.
Jordan: Aragorn, and Alan Shearer. Probably also Spider-Man really.
Jamie: Neo from The Matrix

What is the most embarrassing/surprising record in your CD-shelf?
Alex: I own two copies of the Grease soundtrack on Vinyl for some reason but for CD’s it would be “Doodah” by Cartoons which I was given when I was about 4 years old tune.
Jordan: I’m not so sure about embarrassing, but a jam of mine at the moment is “Everywhere” by Michelle Branch.
Steff: The first album I ever bought was American Idiot by Green Day… Not sure if that’s embarrassing but it’s not something that I’d necessarily listen to now.
Jamie: I’m not embarrassed by any of them. The most surprising might be Sonic Brew by Black Label Society.
