Who is behind Lagerstein?
Ahoy! Lagerstein is made up of seven pirates who are on a quest to find the greatest rum in the world. Unfortunately we found that rum pretty quick (Bundaberg Rum), so now we just tour around the world playing Australian Pirate Metal to all you crazy party animals.

If you had to put your music into a drawer and print a label on it, what would it say?
Party Times Ahoy!

Forget about genres for a second – Lagerstein’s music sounds like …?
It sounds like a pirate who was born into a nice family who has since graduated pirate school, then graduated pirate university but then dropped out and went to the pub.

Which sort of mood produces the best songs?
When you have been partying all night long and the sun starts to rise at 7am, but you still have a beer in your hand and it starts going warm from the sun. This is when we usually write all our songs.

Lagerstein 2

Which instrument will surely NEVER be heard on a Lagerstein album?
I would never say never, but I can’t imagine Lagerstein ever saying „By golly gosh, a Zeusaphone would really suit this section“. But who knows!

Which record would you want to listen to when you leave the bathroom in the morning, while the beautiful girl /handsome guy from last night is still in your bed?
You are really asking the hard hitting questions now! If it was a beautiful girl it would be Steel Panther – „Balls Out“. But if it was a handsome guy it would be The Bennies – „Party! Party! Party!“.

The Fairy-Godmother pops up in front of you and grants you a wish. What do you wish for?
I would wish for this hangover that I have right now to go away. It may not seem like the most useful of wishes in a long term sense, but right now it would be the best thing in the world. Or a hair of the dog. Either one would be amazing right now.

No alcohol is no solution either. What booze combination will definitely dissolve all your troubles and issues?
Jungle Juice! It is the greatest beverage for any situation, especially for drowning your sorrows in the most delicious way.

What shows you that someone is a true friend?
1. Definitions of True Friend according to the Lagerstein Dictionary! – A mate that brings round a case of beers and not a six pack.
2. A mate that will drink a shoey with you to prove a point.
3. A mate that doesn’t drink vodka cruisers.

Who was the hero of your childhood?
Ohh this is a tough one! I guess it would be a split between two of my favourite guitarists. Jesper Strömblad and Michael Amott. Two legends!

What is the most embarrassing/surprising record in your CD-shelf?
I don’t know if this is embarrassing or surprising but mostly my record collection consists of all the greatest Toto albums. No one should ever be embarrased by Toto but.

What’s next? Tour? Studio? Vacation? Something completely different?
Lagerstein
are currently into our fourth month of touring around Europe. Next week we go to Poland/Czechia/Slovakia for our Portside Party tour. Then we have a few more festivals in Germany and surrounding countries before we hit the road again for all of July and August before returning to the UK in late September/October. What a wild endless party! Then we will return back home to Australia. Party Times Ahoy!

Cheers and Beers
