Who is behind Uncle Bard & The Dirty Bastards?
Uncle Bard & The Dirty Bastards.

If you had to put your music into a drawer and print a label on it, what would it say?
Folk-rock spiced up with Irish traditional music!

Forget about genres for a second – Uncle Bard & The Dirty Bastards music sounds like ?
I could say, a more trad version of Flogging Molly or a more rock-ish version of Bothy Band?

Which sort of mood produces the best songs?
It depends on the song! But basically they’re all optimistic, proud and joyful songs.

Which instrument will surely NEVER be heard on a Uncle Bard & The Dirty Bastards- album?
There are no boundaries! We prefer tell you what instruments you’re gonna hear, ‘cause they’re quite unusual: Uilleann pipes, tenor banjo, mandolin, Irish flute, Tin Whistle …

Which record would you want to listen to when you leave the bathroom in the morning, while the beautiful girl/handsome boyfrom last night is still in your bed?
Considering that I’ll probably be leaving without getting noticed, I’d say „Seize the night”by Will Varley.

The Fairy-Godmother pops up in front of you and grants you a wish. What do you wish for?
A traditional music session every night, with free beer for the musicians, of course. Don’t ask for much, it’s basically just like being in Galway or Glasgow.

No alcohol is no solution either. What booze combination will definitely dissolve all your troubles and issues?
No combinations! Just some good old pints of plain.

What shows you that someone is a true friend?
He’s just always there, even if you don’t see or talk to each other for long time.

Who was the hero of your childhood?
Totò Schillaci, the unlikely hero of Italia 90! Musically speaking, the only “hero” I still have is Luke Kelly, singer of The Dubliners.

What is the most embarrassing/surprising record in your CD-shelf?
Lot of Thrash & Death Metal LPs! But no embarrassment here, still love them!

What’s next? Tour? Studio? Vacation? Something completely different?
Well, we had an European tour planned and we were working to come back to US as well, but every plan is actually postponed and the tour in standby mode due to Coronavirus situation. Our album is gonna be released on April 24th and it’s the only sure thing at the moment.
Can’t plan videos either, cause we’re currently in lockdown!
