Who is behind Frozen Factory?
This is Stephen, Frozen Factory’s singer, thanks for checking us out! Let me tell you a bit about myself and the other members of the band.

Let’s start with our awesome drummer, because why not?? Her name’s Marianne, and she’s a multi-instrumentalist who hasn’t revealed her whole hand in the musical world yet, if you know what I mean? Expect to hear a lot more from her.
Tomi, our bassist, is a super-talented multi-instrumentalist too, who’s also a visionary writer and producer in Frozen Factory. Without Tomi, none of this is possible.
Joni, who prefers to be called Johnny, is our ever-happy rhythm guitarist who’s rock solid and never skips a beat – or a smile.
Mici is our lead guitar magician. He brings a very natural ability to add flair to songs and he’s really done his homework – the best guitar sounds from various genres.
As for me, I’m another writer in Frozen Factory and I’ve modelled myself on a range of voices from Bruce Dickinson and Damon Albarn to Sam Cooke and Nina Persson – lots of cool vocalists who’re really different sounding.
That’s us in a nutshell.

Forget about genres for a second – Frozen Factory’s music sounds like …?
If we forget genres, Frozen Factory’s music sounds like a group of forward-thinking Pink Floyd fans planned a theatre performance but exchanged it for a kick-ass concert because they found a bunch of awesome instruments by the stage – if you can imagine that?

Which sort of mood produces the best songs?
In my opinion, the best songs have the right mood for the subject of the lyrics or the story that you want to tell in some other way. That mood should help you to picture a place, a feeling and a series of moving sequences in your head. If all that’s working, then I think you have a great song on your hands. It’s especially good if it leaves you thinking about what it all meant – something deeper than just making your butt shake – of course, there’s a time for that kind of music too, it’s just not what we want to make!

Which person, artist or incident inspired you when you first started making music?
For me, it’s quite hard to pinpoint that moment when I first started creating music. I remember that Iron Maiden got me to take guitar seriously and listening to their singer Bruce Dickinson convinced me that I should pursue a powerful vocal sound. A song titled ‘Going Down’ by a not-so-well-known British band called ‘A’ was probably the track that finally inspired me to write my own serious and often melancholic songs with deep imagery.

What is currently on your playlist? Any recommendations – or other stuff?
Perhaps like many other musicians, I spend a lot of time listening to my own new musical ideas – many, many hours. That’s important, because the songs cannot live in your head forever. At some point you need to record them and that gives your mind the space needed to mentally hear what the details of the song could or should be.
As for music recommendations, look no further than Paris Monster. There’s something utterly refreshing and astonishing about their best songs, and you’ll be amazed by their drummer-keyboardist-singer.

The Fairy-Godmother pops up in front of you and grants you a wish. What do you wish for?
First, I’d wish for all the bad shit that people do to each other to end immediately. And since the Fairy-Godmother’s being super nice now, I could have a second wish, and that would be a headline slot for Frozen Factory at a huge rock festival – perhaps in Germany!?

No alcohol is no solution either. What booze combination will definitely dissolve all your troubles and issues?
Let’s not forget that serious troubles and issues don’t go away with alcohol! Seek real help if needed. However, a decent drink can certainly help lighten the mood after a difficult week! Most of our band is into beer when the time is right! Keep an eye out for rum in the future though! *Starts to sing*

What’s next? Tour? Studio? Vacation? Something completely different?
The next move for Frozen Factory is to get working on new music and play as many shows as we can. We’re not the vacation types at this point in our band career, there’s just too much left to say with our music. See you on the road! Or see you online!
