Wir wollen euch diese Woche Morpholith vorstellen. Sie kommen direkt aus dem Land von Feuer und Eis. Die Isländer spielen verschiedene Rockmusik und Doommetal.

Who is behind Morpholith?
It’s a geology pun, I think… our music is an amalgamation of several types of rock music, the word refers to regolith (rock) that has transformed i.e. morphed. Hence we have Morpholith. If memory serves, our vocalist came up with the name and the rest of us agreed through a weedy haze.

Forget about genres for a second – Morpholiths music sounds like …?
A tripping bulldozer, falling from the 13th floor.

Which sort of mood produces the best songs?
Relaxed, open and experimental. Also, a weedy mood is good.

Which person, artist or incident inspired you when you first started making music?
Black Sabbath, and also Black Sabbath.

The Fairy-Godmother pops up in front of you and grants you a wish. What do you wish for?
Seeing Black Sabbath in the early 70´s.

No alcohol is no solution either. What booze combination will definitely dissolve all your troubles and issues?
I recommend whisky on the rocks, the rocks are optional.

Who was the hero of your childhood?
Meat Loaf is the first musician I remember falling for, admittedly I was six and the cover for “Like a bat out of hell” was a big part of my admiration.

What is the most embarrassing/surprising record on your CD-shelf?
None, my collection is immaculate.

What’s next? Tour? Studio? Vacation? Something completely different?
Next up is finishing production on our debut full-length and finding a label to put it out. No tour is planned as of now, but we are open to the possibility.
